Purpose
This policy outlines the guidelines for public holiday observance within EVEST Group in
Cyprus. It defines which holidays are officially recognized, how they are treated in the
workplace, and the procedures for employees working on these dates. The policy
ensures operational continuity while offering fair compensatory time off for eligible
employees.
Scope
This policy applies to all employees, candidates, contractors, and interns operating
under EVEST Group (NICOSIA, LIMASSOL, etc.). Public holiday entitlements and
procedures may vary by department based on operational coverage requirements.
Definitions
● Public Holiday: A government-declared national or religious holiday
● Replacement Leave: Time off granted in lieu of working on a recognized public
holiday.
● Hiring Manager: The direct manager responsible for shift approvals and
attendance reporting.
● TAS (Talent Acquisition Specialist): Responsible for validating and tracking public
holiday work and compensatory leave.
● TAFL (Talent Acquisition Function Lead): Ensures consistency in application of
policy across departments.
● CHRO: Chief Human Resources Officer responsible for final policy governance

Public Holidays Leave– NICOSIA
● Entitlement:
- The company recognizes the following official public holidays in Cyprus. - All other public holidays are treated as regular working days unless explicitly declared otherwise by the CHRO.

● After C-levels confirmation of department operation on public holidays, TAS must formally notify employees by email if they are required to work on a public holiday. This communication must:
- Be issued at least 15 working days in advance
- Specify which public holiday is affected
● Employees who work on a public holiday are entitled to 1 replacement day off, which must be:
- Used within the same calendar year
- Approved using standard leave request procedures
● C-levels and managers are responsible for communicating holiday work schedules in advance and ensuring employees are properly informed through documented email.
● Employees scheduled to work on a public holiday must:
- Obtain written approval from the Hiring Manager and TAS, with TAFL in cc.
- Include in the request:
- Date of public holiday
- Justification for working
- Proposed compensatory day off (if known)
- Once approved:
- The Hiring Manager must record the workday in the department’s Shared Attendance Sheet
- TAS will track compensatory leave and ensure usage within the calendar year
Compliance & Exceptions
Misuse of public holiday work approvals, or failure to log compensatory days accurately, may lead to disciplinary measures.
All public holiday work must be formally approved in writing by the Hiring Manager and TAS, with TAFL in cc.
Exceptions to these entitlements must be approved in writing by the CHRO.
